Itinerary
Day 1: Check-in and Cooking Class.
Check-in to your beautiful, boutique countryside hotel. Relax at the property before going to one of the most stunning panoramic terraces in the Val d’Orcia area. Visit the farm before rolling up your sleeves and learning how to make some of the local cuisine.
Day 2: Montalcino winery. Pienza. Dairy visit and Cheese Tasting.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit a small, family-run vineyard that produces one of Italy’s most renowned wines, Brunello di Montalcino. Learn about the production process before sitting down to savour the winery’s products paired with a delicious homemade lunch. Spend some time wandering the streets of Pienza before we make our way to a local dairy farm where you can experience the pecorino cheese-making process.
Day 3: Truffle Hunting*. Thermal bath.
Today you will set out to hunt the “black pearl”, more commonly known as a truffle. See the dogs in action, sniffing their way through the woods to uncover this prestigious delicacy. You will then return to the farmhouse to enjoy a truffle-based lunch. In the evening you will enjoy a relaxing thermal bath at the nearby Bagno Vignoni before dinner around the unique square.
Day 4: Montepulciano wine cellar. Farewell dinner.
Visit the historical cellar of one of Italy’s most prestigious wines, Vino Nobile, before a tasting of all their best products. After some free time to see the town and a spot of souvenir shopping we will meet back up to enjoy a farewell dinner together.
Day 5: Check-out. Transfers.
Check out of your hotel and transfers back to Florence.
*Some activities are seasonal, if they are unavailable during the dates you choose to book, they will replaced with an equally delicious experience.
Reviews
Loved the dairy farm.
“Everything was wonderful but the highlight was definitely seeing the farm to table pecorino production. Just a beautiful spot.”
